Description: Dr. Chris McGinley is an award-winning people centred designer, researcher and writer. His research interests are based around design ethnography and the role empathy plays to inform research driven people centred design. He has worked in the field of inclusive design and social innovation for over a decade, on a broad range of industry and academic projects that have been successfully commercialized, exhibited and disseminated internationally. He has published extensively in the area of people-centred design, and delivers lectures, workshops and training as a visiting tutor/lecturer in educational settings such as The Imperial College and The Royal College of Art, in addition to delivering executive education in industry and government settings. He is currently a Research Fellow at the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design, based at the Royal College of Art, where he leads the Age and Diversity Research space.
